OFFSEC-RVA will be holding a meetup this month to cover several topics! Here are some of the details from their page:

What we'll do
We're going to talk a little about Window Managers, screen/tmux, sed/awk/cut/tr, other time saving shortcuts and how to develop your own based on your style of work, and other generalities about Kali and the tools you use. Probably go over some home lab stuff too.
What to bring
Laptop with Kali on it, or a laptop that can boot from USB (flash or hard drive). If you want a bootable flash drive, bring a 32GB or bigger drive and we'll try to get some images going.
Important to know
Best experience is booting Kali natively, you can try using a VM, but your mileage will vary.
